The Beijing Construction and Decoration Association Visits the Los Angeles Community College District Build Program to set New Standards for Green Building in China.
The Center for Math and Science on the campus of Los Angeles Mission College has been named Project of the Year by the Western Pacific Region of the Design-Build Institute of America. The announcement was made at the 7th Annual DBIA Awards dinner held at the Newport Beach Marriott.
New $17 million, 29,300 square foot building will bring community services programs under one roof and is being built to high sustainability standards.
In addition to providing meeting rooms and offices for the student government and college foundation, the new building contains a bookstore and a food court and is built to high sustainability standards.
Dr. Helen Miller Bailey Library is expanded by nearly 12,000 square feet, and features up-to-date technology to promote learning, and is renovated to high sustainability standards
New $87 million, nearly 100,000 square foot building on Mission’s East Campus houses math and science departments, features state-of-the art labs, and is built to highest sustainability standards
New 92,000 square foot Library and Academic Resource Center features a state-of-the art library, plus a variety of new facilities to promote learning, and is built to high sustainability standards
The Los Angeles Community College District today released a request for proposals for the management of the final phase of its $6 billion Building Program. The Building Program, which has been renovating and modernizing the nine campuses of the LACCD and related facilities, has been underway since voters approved the first bonds in 2001.
