Founded in 1945, East Los Angeles College ranks the 13th in the state for students transfer to the University of California and ranks the 4th in California for adult learners. The ELAC Athletics Program provides exciting opportunities for student athletes in numerous sports including football, swimming, track, and field.

The college’s 88-acre campus is located 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in suburban Monterey Park. ELAC’s focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement) is evident in the 120,000 SF Science Career & Mathematics Complex (SCMC). Finishing the SCMC will complete the east-west campus quad, which also includes the Campus Student Center Bookstore and the Ernest H. Moreno Language Arts and Humanities building – the State of California’s largest classroom building.
